FOREWORD
Dear Colleagues,
The subjects of electromobility and sustainability are everywhere in our society, and particularly
in the field of motorsport. The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is one of the most cutting-edge and pioneering racing series in the world, because it combines both these subjects in
its DNA and, together with the teams, drivers and partners, drives them forward. This is what
makes Formula E the perfect match for us at Hankook Tire & Technology, and the reason we have
been official technical partner and tyre supplier of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship
since Season 9.
We have embedded challenging sustainability goals within our corporate values and are committed to responsible environmental management. For example, Hankook supports the objectives
for sustainable development (UN Global Compact) laid down by the United Nations and the international community, and is actively involved solving global social challenges. This is repeatedly
confirmed independently, for example through the listing in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.
Hankook has also received the coveted ISCC PLUS certification (International Sustainability and
Carbon Certification) for its European production plant in Rácalmás (Hungary).
For many years, Hankook, with its premium products, has been a reliable partner of motorsport
teams and drivers. Through its extensive involvement, it has also been instrumental in helping
many organisations to implement motor racing events. Among the championships that Hankook
supports are the 24H Series, the biggest endurance series in the world, and Lamborghini Super
Trofeo. The absolute highlight of the company’s portfolio is the involvement in Formula E. As well
as the subjects of sustainability and development, forward-looking action and technical progress
also play an important role in this project.
Our press kit allows us to provide you with comprehensive information on both our involvement
in Formula E and our premium product, the Hankook iON Race, which was developed specifically
to be used in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. This is also available in a street version
for demanding drivers of electric vehicles as the Hankook iON Evo (summer), Hankook iON i*cept
(winter) and Hankook iON FlexClimate (all year).
