Year 6: Full Lesson Plan - Manual / Resource - Page 21
Y6 English Lesson Plan
Junior Journalists
This lesson plan covers a range of national curriculum objectives for upper key stage 2 (year 6), to support
a unit of work focusing on non-fiction. However, it could be adapted to use with younger or older
learners.
We recommend you read through the plan carefully and adapt it to suit the needs of your learners,
considering how many sessions you9ll need to effectively cover each element. You may wish to expand on
one or more areas in the plan and extend the writing task over more than one lesson. You might even
choose to devote a day to the project and supplement this activity with other Guinness World Records
activities.
Although helpful, you do not need a copy of any Guinness World Records books to deliver this lesson.
The symbols used in this lesson plan and in the lesson presentation
indicate suggestions for partner work and group work.
