The city of Bath is a place like no other...
Bath is a city known for its history. Welcoming over 9 million visitors yearly, it’s clear to see that the city is worth a trip. The only city in the UK to
be designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bath will take you through time. In just a few steps on its cobbled streets you’ll travel centuries. The
city is known as a living museum, as well as being a vibrant and thriving twenty-first-century destination with many events, shops and eateries to
explore during your whimsy wanderings of the city, all year round.
In our opinion, Bath thrives in cosy season. You simply can’t beat perusing the honey-hued city when the leaves are goldening in the autumn.
And winter in the city is just as magical. Bath Christmas Market brings people from all around the world and has a real feel of festivity and
togetherness. Even aside from Christmas, Bath in the winter months couldn’t be cosier. Picture wrapping up in coat and scarf and heading out to
explore the city’s quirky streets and alleys (also much quieter than in the summer!).
A visit to the Roman Baths (which date all the way back to AD43) should definitely be on your itinerary if you’re planning a trip to the city. The
city of Bath was in fact named after the Roman-built Baths themselves, so they really are a big part of its history. Perhaps one of the most
magnificent historic sites in the Northern Europe, here, you’ll come to realise how the amazing architecture of the city really did come to be, with
the Roman Baths at the heart of it all.
Another city-must-see is Bath Abbey – you simply can’t miss it. Located in the centre of Bath, the Abbey’s iconic architecture and interior offer a
moment of stillness in the beating heart of the vibrant city. Head inside for services, tours, to light a candle or listen to choirs.
