In the vibrant cultural tapestry of the Bahamas,
Charles Laroda stands as a living testament to the
deep roots of Bahamian history, culture, and the arts.
A People-to-People Ambassador since its inception in
Grand Bahama in 1976, Charles has witnessed and
contributed to the growth of the program, bringing a
wealth of knowledge, passion, and connection to his
role. For nearly five decades, he has been a bridge
between the islands and the world, sharing not just
the famous beaches and resorts, but also the heart of
Grand Bahama’s unique culture and artistry.
The People-to-People program, which began in New
Providence in 1975, expanded to Grand Bahama a
year later. It was at this pivotal moment in 1976 that
Charles became one of its first ambassadors.
