As the winter season approaches, we’re thrilled to present the latest issue of Grand Life Magazine, packed with
stories that celebrate the heart and soul of Grand Bahama. In this edition, we take you on a journey through the
island's vibrant culture, inspiring individuals, and exciting events that are shaping the future of our community.
We’re excited to kick off the issue with our lead story, where we shine a spotlight on the Grand Bahama
Ambassadors—some of the most passionate and dedicated individuals working to elevate the island's presence on
the global stage. In our Junkanoo feature, we turn the spotlight on Thomas Curry of Platinum Knights and his
commitment to Junkanoo and the advancement of this Bahamian art form.
This issue also features an exclusive interview with WNBA star Jonquel Jones. As one of Grand Bahama’s brightest
sporting talents, Jonquel opens up about her journey from the courts of Grand Bahama to becoming an
international basketball sensation, and what it means to represent her island on the world stage.
We’re also excited to bring you our People to People feature on Charles Laroda, a sneak peek into what’s next for
Restaurant Fest 2025, a culinary profile on Chef Vaughn Cooper, and share more about two of Grand Bahama’s
newest island ambassadors—Zhaneo and Alannah.
For our Member Feature, we focus on the Port Lucaya Marketplace, a vital hub for culture, commerce, and
entertainment in Grand Bahama, and meet a couple who calls Grand Bahama their second home.
Finally, we’ll share an interview with Omeko Glinton, who talks about his family’s legacy in bonefishing, the
challenges and rewards of guiding, and the powerful documentary Meko, which shares his story of resilience, faith,
and hope.
This issue is brimming with exciting stories, inspiring people, and incredible achievements that showcase the best
of Grand Bahama. Whether you're a long-time resident, a frequent visitor, or someone discovering our island for
the first time, we hope this edition of Grand Life Magazine will inspire you to see the beauty of this remarkable
place. Thank you for being a part of our community, and we look forward to sharing more in the pages ahead.
