As the year progresses, October brings two exciting
festivals. The McClean’s Town Conch Cracking Festival is
a must for seafood lovers. Held annually, this event
features all things conch, including cooking competitions
and live entertainment. Meanwhile, Oktoberfest – Beer &
BBQ will offer visitors a chance to sample the best local
beers from Commonwealth Brewery and Bahamian
Brewery while enjoying a variety of BBQ dishes. The
festival promises to be an exciting fusion of Bahamian
tradition and international beer culture.
In November, the Conchman Triathlon will bring together
athletes from around the world for a challenging yet
scenic race that includes a 750-meter swim, 25kilometer bike ride, and 5-kilometer run. The event
provides an opportunity for both locals and visitors to
compete and stay active while enjoying the natural
beauty of Grand Bahama.
The year wraps up with Festival Noel in December, a
signature holiday event at the Rand Nature Center. This
enchanting
evening
includes
wine,
art,
and
performances by local artists, with all funds raised
benefiting The Bahamas National Trust to help develop
the country’s national parks.
