One aspect Zhane’o holds dearest about Grand
Bahama is the exceptional quality of life it offers. "The
cost of living is more affordable, particularly for rent,
crime rates are low, and both the air and water are
exceptionally clean. It feels like stepping back into
simpler times," he explains. Zhane’o’s love for his
home goes beyond just the physical attributes; he
finds a sense of peace and connection with the island
that many only dream of. "Whenever I travel, I always
find myself longing to return," he adds.
The island’s unmistakable charm is something that
Zhane’o believes sets it apart from any other place.
"No matter where you’ve traveled, the moment you
wake up on the island, you can immediately tell you’re
in Grand Bahama," he says. The beauty of the island’s
coastline, with its pristine sandy beaches and vibrant
greenery, captures the heart and soul of anyone who
visits. "The abundance of trees not only enhances the
natural beauty but also contributes to the island’s
clean, fresh air, enriching the atmosphere with a
sense of vitality and purity," he continues. It’s a place
that is both serene and alive, a breathtaking
landscape that makes an indelible impression on all
who experience it.
For Zhane’o, being able to represent Grand Bahama
is both an honor and a privilege. "It’s a true honor to
represent my island, my hometown, the place where I
grew up," he shares. "It fills me with pride and
gratitude, knowing that all the hard work I’ve put in
over the years has led to this moment." Being able to
give back to the community that shaped him is
something Zhane’o finds especially rewarding. "It’s a

yield results," he adds, emphasizing how deeply
connected he is to the island and its people.
Zhane’o’s ideal weekend on Grand Bahama is one
that reflects the island's laid-back vibe and its
emphasis on community and fun. "I love spending time
at one of the popular spots around the island, soaking
in the vibrant atmosphere," he says, adding that his
weekends often start with a meal in Port Lucaya, a
lively area that offers a great taste of local flavors.
However, the highlight of his weekend is always
karaoke. "Grand Bahama is famous for its karaoke
scene, with a different spot hosting every night,"
Zhane’o says with a smile. "I go and sing the same
three songs every time—it’s my favorite way to end the
night, embracing the lively, welcoming spirit of the
island."
When Zhane’o introduces friends to Grand Bahama,
there are a few places he always makes sure they
see. "The first place I like to show friends visiting
Grand Bahama is Port Lucaya," he explains. "It’s a
vibrant spot with a variety of cuisines, giving a great
taste of the island’s food culture." Afterward, he takes
them to some of his favorite beaches, including Taino
Beach, Xanadu Beach, and Gold Rock Beach. "They’re
simply breathtaking," he says. For a deeper dive into
the local culture, he recommends a visit to the West
End for some authentic Bahamian conch salad, conch
fritters, pancakes, and fish. "It’s perfect for
experiencing local flavors," Zhane’o says. He also
enjoys taking his visitors to East End to explore the
Lucayan Caves, an adventure that adds an exciting
touch to their island experience.
One of Zhane’o’s favorite hidden gems on the island is
West End, particularly on Sundays. "It’s where you’ll
find authentic Bahamian music, delicious food, and an
atmosphere filled with lively, unforgettable vibes," he
notes. Another favorite spot is Gold Rock Beach,
which he believes to be the most beautiful beach on
Grand Bahama. "Its stunning landscape captures the
true beauty of the island, making it a must-visit for
anyone seeking the perfect Bahamian experience," he
says.
