Chef Vaughn Cooper is a culinary talent whose
journey to becoming the Chef de Cuisine at Grand
Lucayan was deeply inspired by his upbringing and
the influential figures he encountered along the way.
At present, he oversees the day-to-day operations of
the restaurants at Lighthouse Point, where he
continues to craft exciting new dishes using local
ingredients and fresh seafood. However, Chef
Vaughn’s passion for cooking goes beyond just the
food; it’s about honoring his roots and sharing the
stories behind the traditional flavors of the Bahamas.
Born and raised in a home where good food was at
the heart of family life, Chef Vaughn’s mother, an
extraordinary baker, played a pivotal role in shaping
his love for cooking. Yet, it was his grade 10-12 Hotel
and Catering instructor, Miss Mary Nabb, who truly
inspired his journey into the culinary world.
