Sustainability is not just a buzzword for me; it is the very essence
of our vision for Grand Bahama Island as we chart a course to
become the 'Home of Innovation.' We are propelling ourselves into
a new horizon of groundbreaking advancements and exciting
prospects for both residents and visitors.
Grand Bahama Island has faced its fair share of serious storms,
however, our resolve to build back resiliently remains firm. We are
transforming Grand Bahama into the center for sustainability, with
numerous businesses already leveraging technology to advance
their practices.
As the Cabinet Chair for Innovate242, I am spearheading the
creation of a business incubator that goes beyond merely building
businesses. Grand Bahama’s business incubator, which will be the
model for other islands, will focus on nurturing tech-centered,
innovative, and sustainable enterprises. Our goal is to cultivate a
business landscape that not only thrives economically but also
contributes significantly to the principles of sustainability and
innovation.
We take pride in our distinctive role as a destination, attracting a
growing number of travelers eager to partake in the 'Grand
Experience.' The undeniable authenticity, warm hospitality, and
hidden gems scattered across this ship-shaped paradise have
fueled a tourism resurgence. Grand Bahama’s popularity is
growing as a much sought-after destination for both air and sea
travelers.
Our island’s appeal extends beyond its thriving tourism sector,
positioning itself as a keenly prospected hotspot for investment.
The island's growth and untapped potential have garnered global
attention, resulting in a surge of commitments to support our
ongoing efforts.
Continuing on an unwavering path, Grand Bahama Island is
experiencing significant developments, including community
restoration, cultural preservation, healthcare advancements, and
ambitious sustainability plans. We are poised to become the
'Home of Maritime and Logistics,' the 'Home of Events and
