Stopover cruise ship passengers visiting Grand
Bahama and residents can also enjoy the amenities
at Lighthouse Pointe by taking advantage of the
resort’s day pass. The property has seen a significant
increase in international guest arrivals in recent
months, and according to Terrance Roberts, Assistant
Secretary of Lucayan Renewal Holdings Ltd, the
parent company of the Grand Lucayan Resort, the
hotel is also benefiting from Domestic Tourism thanks
to the promotion of its “Staycation Program”.
“These are exciting times for the resort. We have seen
an influx of guests directly resulting from increased
airlift to Grand Bahama Island from Canada, North
Carolina, and other locations. We also have a
program called “Staycation” that we promote to
residents and islands throughout The Bahamas, and

Roberts notes that Grand Bahama possesses a
unique characteristic that allows visitors to immerse
themselves in multiple experiences in one location.
“Grand Bahama offers three distinct types of tourism
experiences on one island. In East Grand Bahama, we
have Eco-Tourism experiences with nature trials, bone
fishing, kayaking, and the exploration of caves and
national parks. In West Grand Bahama, we have
cultural experiences, landmarks, and historical
artifacts. And at the center is a diversified city
experience that offers shopping, gourmet dining, and
entertainment.”
“Visitors can vacation here for 40 days and find
something different to do every day on Grand
Bahama!”
