Reiterating that all of the services
available at sister airports like the
Lynden Pindling International Airport
(LPIA) are available on Grand Bahama
just on a different scale, Huyler and
Frith-Jones looks forward to greater
service, experiences and satisfaction
for all utilizing GBIA.
“Last year, we serviced 300,000
passengers and we are working to
obtain pre-Hurricane Dorian and
COVID-19 peak flow numbers of
800,000 passengers as well as the
return of the United States PreClearance services. “We are also
looking forward to having a world-class
airport as it relates to facilitation,
everyone being in one space so that we
would have a more efficient turnaround
and being able to provide a more
intimate service to our customers.
“Furthermore, we are looking at our
fellow stakeholders that include taxi
drivers, tour operators, other service
agencies, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of
Grand Bahama, Royal Bahamas Police
Force,
Bahamas
Customs
and
Immigration, airlines and the like to
again be in one environment as
communication between us all is key.
“We are excited about the future, a
world-class airport that can withstand
ravages of hurricanes and every
component necessary coming together
for the success of Grand Bahama so
that travelers will not only have an
airport to come through but they will be
able to experience our island, people
and unique, trademark qualities on a
greater scale.
“Until then, we encourage all to utilize
the GBIA and travel now,” exclaimed
Frith-Jones.
