Tonbridge and Malling is a borough that covers an
area to the North west of Kent. Its administrative
centre is King’s Hill although Tonbridge town is the
largest urban area.
Tonbridge is home to a 900-year-old castle and the
famous Judd School, whose alumni include Jane
Austen’s father. The church of All Saints in Tudeley is
the only church in the world to have all its stainedglass windows designed by Marc Chagall.
Tonbridge and Malling has no LSOAs in the
top 10% in the country but there are pockets
of relative deprivation within the borough
that contrast starkly with more affluent
neighbourhoods (IMD, 2019).
