We have high ambitions at Glad, and the wave we generated in 1999 swells by the day, supported by
strong employees whose enthusiastic efforts result in an extraordinary and persistent contribution
to the development of our companies, educations and new business areas.
In an inspiring community with an encompassing view of humanity, innovation and the love for
our work thrives. This book is a fine testimony to our results.
We will continue to safeguard freedom of expression, meaningful education and remain in the
vanguard in the struggle for an inclusive society.
Our locomotive is TV-Glad whose presence in the media picture has developed into a strong
brand and forcefully paved the way for disabled people to have their say with their own voices,
views and contributions to culture as well as society in general. In the coming years, we must spread
the word and share our experience with other countries and continents.
However, globally and from a community perspective, challenges remain. Future begs for new
and sustainable welfare solutions, and Glad will continue to deliver on this. We have proven that we
can develop sound businesses, where inclusion, sustainability and profit go hand in hand.
UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) must become the guiding light. In addition to be the
solution to the world’s biggest challenges and delivering the sustainability we all need, the SDGs can
be instrumental in creating business value and opportunity to develop entirely new business areas.
Civic participation is attainable by being part of the labour market, which demands ever increasing competencies. Thus, society in general would do wisely to set up relevant and qualifying
education for people with cognitive disabilities, so they can meet these demands for strengthened
competencies and self-sufficiency. Glad works hard with the support of i.a. private donors and in
partnership with companies and municipalities to reach this goal. And we will continue till our
obvious and fantastic results are reflected and enshrined in central legislation!
Within Glad, we increase employment as much as we possibly can. But compared to the number
of people who want and need employment, it is far from adequate. Denmark needs more companies
to offer relevant job opportunities.
At Glad we have developed valuable methods and approaches for companies that want to contribute to a more inclusive labour market. We know what it takes for business to go hand in hand with
social inclusion. So, in the coming years – and along with other companies and key stakeholders - we
will set new standards for growth and business development, which encompass social sustainability.
