With the new branches, 2012 became a significant year for Glad Foundation. At TV-Glad, Mogens
Svane took charge and with his many years’ experience at Danish Broadcasting (DR), he boosted
the employees’ competencies. One major achievement was the deal with DR’s Ramasjang (= Hullabaloo) channel to cooperate on fifteen children’s programmes.
“We barely managed, we were incredibly busy, but we did fifteen good programmes called ‘Glad
on Air,’ which were re-broadcast 19-20 times,” Mogens Svane remembers.
The experience prepared the ground for more commercial cooperation with other TV channels,
e.g. the political programme ‘Jan and Daniel at Parliament’ produced by the Copenhagen branch for
DR2, ‘Poul in the Countryside’ produced by Aabenraa for TV Syd (South) and ‘In Bed with Citronella’
for Radio 24Seven, all of which became hugely popular.
Also, since the very beginning, Glad has produced close to 100 videos for LEV (LIVE), the private
national Danish association for the mentally disabled and their families. LEV has been and is a very
keen supporter of Glad.
In the spring of 2019 Chris Palmgren, Rasmus Nielsen, Julie Bezerra and Lotte Horup from TVGlad went to Abu Dhabi on a commercial assignment. They covered the Special Olympics World
Games for Parasport Denmark, which participated with 86 athletes out of the 7500 participants
from 195 countries. Obviously, this was very hard work – as well as terrific experience.
