GLAD 20 YEARS - Flipbook - Page 36
Regional
footing
In 2008, yet another regional branch of TV-Glad opened. Over the years, a few local collaborations
had been formed and run aground, but the new branch in Aabenraa was successful. This was by no
means obvious on section chief Kristian Mølgaard’s first day at work:
“I walked through the door on the 1 of February, dressed up in my very best, and was met by a
total mess. Only 10 percent of the new floors were finished. The windows were broken, no electricity,
no furniture, nothing! Somebody had to do it, so I just had to get started. This was quite typical at
first.” He smiles …
“We succeeded, of course, and actually managed to create a very nice department. For us, it
was really good to found a cooperation based on the Glad-idea. Our goals were identical; to make a
difference for people with special needs.”
One of which is Poul Pelle, who has been aboard from the very beginning. Known to any and all in
Aabenraa – as well as to the celebrities he has interviewed over the years.
“Anders Matthesen (comedian and film maker) is my favourite, he was my first interviewee on
the 31 of October 2008. He’s really cool!” says Poul, who is also very keen to cover the Danish film
awards, Bodil.
“In 2010, when Lasse Rimmer (another comedian) hosted the award ceremony, and my colleagues
were the only TV-people present, he decided that every winner had to do something special for
the camera. A somersault or the like. The entire theatre applauded. TV-Glad almost attracted more
attention than the award show.
Ever since, the Aabenraa branch has been the Bodil Award show’s favourite.
“We have gained impressive foothold in the region. We cooperate with TV South, radio P4, we do
a lot of commercial products, and we have a vocational school as well now. We are 19 employees
now, which is why we have recently moved for the third time since the beginning,” says Kristian
Mølgaard with some pride.
