The law applies to all schools that receive funds under anapplicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. FERPA protects the privacy of student records byrequiring prior written consent before disclosing personally identifiable information to a third party.FERPA gives parents certain rights with respect to their children's education records. These rights transfer tothe student when he or she reaches the age of 18 or attends a school beyond the high school level.Records created and maintained by the GCC Financial Aid Office are education records and may not bedisclosed without the student's consent.FERPA affords students certain rights with respect to their education records. There are a variety of opportunities for participation in the various activities and organizations atGCC. In the inauguration of new activities, clubs, and organizations, students present organization plans to theVice President of Student Services and Athletics and the Student Senate for approval. A faculty advisor isselected for each organization.STUDENT IDENTIFICATION CARDUpon registering and paying the required fees, each new student with six (6) or more credits will receive aStudent Identification Card.
