NEW Water: Our History at a Glance - Magazine - Page 20
“Wastewater operators are indispensable.
They are operating really complicated
equipment and dealing with a biological
process, which is not a simple process.
Some of it is outdoors, subjected to the
elements. These people have to be really
skilled in a lot of different things in order
to make the system operate on a 24-7-365
basis. Without having the talented people
completing these types of tasks, we don’t
have the services that we really need to be
a sustainable community.”
– Dr. John Katers, University of
Wisconsin-Green Bay, Dean of the College of
Science, Engineering, and Technology
