A MESSAGE FROM OUR
PRESIDENT & CEO
Q4 | 2022
CHUCK GOODRICH
Dear Gaylor Nation,
The summer of 2022 will soon be in the books. For the Gaylor organization, we have just completed another
successful summer internship program with over 100 college and high school students working full-time with us.
The work responsibilities they handled varied by experience and age, with some working in office support or jobsite
trailer settings, while others got ‘down and dirty,’ literally, working side by side with the industry’s top craft
professionals.
Our summer internship program accomplished our three top goals: (1) provide a positive introduction to the
construction industry, and (2) give each person the opportunity to learn to be the best version of themselves [be
authentic], and (3) to experience a sense of personal accomplishment by doing important and necessary work that
helps build America. Many of us have built careers spanning years, with portfolios of projects that dot the landscape
in the areas where we live. These finished projects stand as monuments to our effort and sweat. For the interns, our
desire was to instill a sense of pride and appreciation for our great construction industry. From the reports we
received in the exit interviews, our goals were accomplished with the majority already slotted to return for 2023.
Across the organization we take the time to put focus on a particular behavior or attitude that, when applied, builds
up our employees while strengthening our teams. For the summer months of June and July our focus was on
HUSTLE. We define HUSTLE as having a “get on it and stay on it” attitude. Our plan is always to have early
intentional performance that will carry all the way through to finishing strong.
During the closing month for Q3, our September focus word will be on EXECUTION. Actions speak louder than mere
words. We walk the talk of being the highest performing national contractor of excellence. In our all-organization
communications, concepts revolving around EXECUTION will be shared, that when applied, grows our capacity to
perform!
Overall, Q3 is panning out to be another great quarter that is fitting nicely into another great year in the history of
Gaylor Electric. Thank you for your part in Gaylor Nation!
Stay safe and take (genuine) care of each other.
Chuck Goodrich,
President & CEO
