A MESSAGE FROM OUR
PRESIDENT & CEO
Dear Gaylor Nation,
I am always excited for our quarterly Conduit e-magazine to come out. Ever since our very first issue was sent in
February 2019, it has become a means to communicate with all our VIP’s in Gaylor Nation. All of our current
employees, clients, and vendors receive this, plus many partners of our past…or as I like to think of it, those who
helped lay the foundation for who Gaylor Electric has developed into.
Already in the second month of 2023, we began the year like an Olympic runner bursting out of the blocks. Fast
paced doesn’t quite capture how these first 6-7 weeks have been. Opportunities are in abundance…it is believing to
choose the right ones that measure up with our strategic plans!
On January 13, we held an all-company virtual meeting. For one hour, we closed down our projects and departments
to gather together to review our record setting 2022 performances and to set our business plan to WIN in 2023.By
doing this, we were able to have everyone hear our message at the same time. Our expectation is a like-minded
approach with all of us being and staying connected, resulting in our being productive throughout the year!
Our one-page business plan is the compass to keep our company moving in the right direction to attain our desired
results. During our all-company meeting, I took a few minutes to cover an acronym for PLAN. It’s nothing elaborate,
just a good-sense approach to being prepared for the opportunities we will have.
P – Prepare – preparation is key to early and consistent performance.
L – Leave Nothing to Chance – a plan keeps you ready for all situations that can arise.
A – Able – able to be flexible with challenges to keep established momentum.
N – Never – never give up and never quit…adjust a plan, but always have a plan!
I have also been sharing a business quote at our meetings that I felt encapsulates the heart of our company:
“Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and
focused effort.”
The more I have thought about it, I’ve decide to give a Gaylor-ized version of the quote: “Being productive is always
a result of our like-minded commitment to excellence by being connected to our Business Plan, with intentional
actions to achieve our performance goals.” Have a plan, review the plan, and most importantly, work the plan. All
the good work accomplished in previous years has brought us to this year, 2023, holding the potential for this being
our best year yet!
This issue of The Conduit is again chock full of highlights for our company, both in 2022 and now firmly into 2023. I
am so glad you are receiving this issue and that in some way, are part of Gaylor Nation. It takes having incredible
employees, combined with trusted clients and vendors, to grow a company while making the work experience
satisfying.
