SAFETY MOMENT
AMERICAN HEART MONTH
HAVE AN AED.
An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) measures
heart rhythm and delivers an electrical shock that can
jolt the heart back into a normal rhythm. Survival rate
greatly increases when an AED is utilized.
LEARN CPR.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) takes only a few
minutes to learn and can double or triple a cardiac
arrest victim's chance of survival.
DEVELOP A PLAN.
You never know when you'll need to save a life!
Developing a cardiac emergency response plan can
establish specific steps to be taken if a situation arises.
KNOW YOUR RISK.
Understanding the risk factors that play into your
cardiovascular health is extremely important.
Identifying and making a change towards these factors
can reduce risk for a heart-related death by 78%.
