Gaylor Electric Utility team restoring
power in Lockport, Louisiana following
the aftermath of Hurricane Zeta.
Our Gaylor Electric Utility Team worked with GRIT to restore power after
Hurricane Zeta rolled through New Orleans, Louisiana in early November
2020. Classified as a Category 2, Zeta was the strongest hurricane on
record, in terms of sustained wind speed, to ever hit the city of New Orleans.
Nearly 1.5 million electric customers lost power from Louisiana to Virginia.
The Gaylor Electric Utility Team headed to New Orleans the morning prior to
the storm hitting and returned on November 21, 2020. In the photo below,
the Utility Team worked to change out a recloser along Highway LA 1.
