Q3 Conduit 2023 - Flipbook - Page 3
A MESSAGE FROM OUR
PRESIDENT & CEO
Dear Gaylor Nation,
Chuck Goodrich
As I was preparing to write this opening letter for our Q3 Conduit, I looked back at our last issue. In it I
referenced the start of summer and some of the changes we had in front of us. Guess what? Those same
‘changes’ face us now, but now schools are starting back up, Interns have completed their time on the job,
and the weather…well the weather seems to be stuck on HOT.
“There’s always something…” is a truism that rings loudly for all of us. Change is the constant that is always
there. Not trying to sound profound, just stating an important reality that must be dealt with. Knowing that
change is always lurking, and that it does not always announce itself, requires a diligence to always be
prepared for its arrival.
Like many of you, I have spent years of my life behind the wheel driving somewhere. I think everyone
reading this understands the basic principles of driving…keep your eyes on the road, avoid distractions,
obey the stated laws, etc. These will keep you alert to possible changes in front of you. The key I left out
was checking your rearview mirror for what’s coming up behind you.
This simple everyday activity of getting from point A to point B safely is a good illustration for a business.
Though the majority of time and effort is spent on what’s in front of you, there needs to be a consistent
‘checking of the rearview mirror’ to see what’s coming up. Doing this will keep you prepared for the
“There’s always somethings,” that will inevitably pop up.
This edition of the Conduit covers a Gaylor Electric original, Gaylor GRIT Day, which was held at all of our
projects and locations on Wednesday, August 16. We did not invent the word GRIT, but, as a company, we
have certainly embraced the stick-to-it and give it your best attitude that defines GRIT. This is something
our clients can expect from our Gaylor teams and what our employees bring to their job responsibilities.
I am so proud of our organization! Enjoy photos of all our location picnics held so far this summer. As we
enter another project awards season, we will celebrate many recognitions for the outstanding project
performance of our teams across the country. As the needs in the construction industry have changed, we
have changed with our dedication to innovation, production, quality. The use of our measurement-focused
capabilities has led to consistent reliable results for our clients.
We are a blessed company to have such quality clients and vendors who join with us in building across
America. Our company has great respect for those who are likeminded in the commitment to provide
excellence in all we do. Personally, I am so thankful for the ‘3-legged stool’ of our employees, clients, and
vendors.
Many of you have reached out to me concerning my campaign to win the Republican nomination to run for
Congress to represent IN District 05. I am very pleased with how the campaign is moving. Here is my
website if you are interested in keeping tabs on the progress www.gowithchuckgoodrich.com.
Enjoy the Conduit and I look forward to crossing paths with you down the road.
Stay safe and take care of each other.
Chuck Goodrich,
President & CEO
