Climate goals
In 2023, Gabriel joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) aimed at supporting
the climate goals of the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
Gabriel is working to establish reduction goals for 2030 in accordance with SBTi guidelines and develop a transition plan. This
involves several activities, including a comprehensive Scope
3 assessment, technology and process development, and increased use of self-produced renewable energy in our companies and throughout the value chain. The minimum targets are
a reduction of 42% for 100% of Scope 1 and 2 emissions and
30% for 67% of Scope 3 emissions.

The Science Based Targets initiative is a framework for companies to set emission targets that align with the climate goals
of the Paris Agreement and are based on climate science. The
initiative was founded by the UN Global Compact, CDP, WRI,
and WWF, and it is based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
