LARS
THE LAMP WAS NOT OPTIMAL
– SO WE DEVELOPED OUR OWN
Lars Grosen’s first meeting with
Frode Laursen dates back to
his childhood on the farm in
Hadbjerg near Hadsten, where
he grew up.
“My father exported heifers
to Italy, and it was Frode that
came and collected them.
Nobody needed to be at home
when they arrived. They went
into the stable themselves and
found the ones with the right
brand and that was that – no
more hassle.”
CARETAKER IN HØRNING
Lars Grosens
Lars is a qualified electrical installer and was hired as a caretaker in Hørning
when Frode Laursen took over Weston. He was
hired primarily to manage the electrical installations in the old carpet factory, but the job also
involved many other tasks.
“We remodelled everything on an ongoing
basis. One of the major initiatives was to knock
down walls and build ramps. Already by the end
of 1998 we had started building a new 11,000
m² hall in Hørning. The following year, we built
even more.”

THE START OF THE
CONSTRUCTION PROGRAMME
It quickly became apparent that using the
experience from one build was beneficial when
starting the next. Everything could fit on one
A4 sheet at the start, but over time, the descriptions became more detailed.
“Over time, what we started has evolved
into what we call our construction programme.
When we build something new, we lay it out
for the contractor and say: We need these
requirements to be met. There must be so many
electrical panels; the ramps must be a certain
height, and so on. This is our specification of
requirements, and it started small back then.”
Lars is no longer aached specifically to
Hørning. Now, he travels to all the locations
and helps with technical maers. He knows the
buildings so well that he can direct employees
in Angered, Jyderup, Flensburg or anywhere
else remotely by phone.
DEVELOPED OWN LAMP
Lars’ area of responsibility is vast. Among other
things, he is responsible for the doors, of which
there are more than 1,000 to keep track of, the
sprinkler systems and the lighting. Ensuring
