EMIL
TRUCK DRIVING IS MY PASSION
Emil Graczyk first heard about Frode Laursen
while chaing with another Polish driver at a
service station in Bremerhaven, Germany.
“He worked for Frode Laursen and talked
about good working conditions, quality trucks
and all sorts of things. Later, I heard the same
story from another driver and then applied for
a job here. Now, I’ve been working for Frode
Laursen for 15 years, and it’s been a wonderful
adventure for me.”
Emil started his job just as Frode Laursen
began to use the 25-metre long EMS road trains.
“It was something very special. People
weren’t used to seeing such long, heavy trucks,
and many would ask me if they could take a
photo.”
PASSIONATE ABOUT DRIVING TRUCKS
Throughout the years, Emil has continued to
live in his hometown of Gorzow in western
Poland, even though his workplace has been
the highways of Scandinavia. Sometimes, he’s
snaking his truck and trailer up a twisting and
narrow Norwegian mountain road.
“It may sound strange, but I enjoy the hard
roads. Driving trucks is my passion and I always
smile a lile when things get tough.”
RECRUITING
NEW DRIVERS
As a driver, Emil drove
from his home in Poland
to one of Frode Laursen’s
locations – oen Jyderup,
where he picked up the
truck that would be his
workplace for the next two
to three weeks.
“It was oen a good
idea to stay overnight in
one of the locations, where
there are rooms to sleep
in and the chance to take
a bath and heat my food. When you sleep in the
truck, it’s a bit like camping.”
Emil always took his bike with him to ride
around when he had time off to see the area and
get some exercise.
Aer working as a driver for nine years,
Emil accepted an offer to try something else at
Frode Laursen.
“Now I’m working in Poland to recruit new
Polish drivers and training them on how we do
things at Frode Laursen. I have the advantage of
knowing exactly what I’m talking about.”
