JENNY AND PAUL
IT’S OKAY TO ASK QUESTIONS
Jenny Fridell
and Paul Jensen
When Jenny Fridell discovered that
someone was building a large warehouse in Åstorp, she decided to find
out who was behind it.
“I had already worked in
logistics for ten years, and I
thought there might be an exciting
opportunity there. I found out that
it was Frode Laursen, so I wrote to
them.”
Like Jenny, many others were
interested in hearing about job
opportunities at the new logistics
centre, and they were invited to an information
meeting. The process of selecting the right employees then got underway. Nine were selected.
Jenny was one of them. Another new employee
was Paul Jensen, who had almost ten years’
experience as a driver.
The two didn’t know each other or any of
the others beforehand, but they soon did.
“We went on a training course for three
weeks in Denmark. On Monday, we drove down
together in Paul’s car and stayed at Hørning Kro,
so we also enjoyed ourselves in the evenings.
During the day, we were in Vien. I was mostly
in the packing department and spent a bit
of time in picking. Over the three weeks we
learned about the work as well as the company,”
says Jenny.

FREEDOM WITH RESPONSIBILITY
Aer 17 years, five of the original nine who were
first hired are still there. By and large, those
who were hired later have also stayed.
“The reason I think that people stay in the
job for so many years is because Frode Laursen
gives employees freedom with responsibility.
You have to learn to think for yourself and that
makes the job meaningful. You feel that the
effort you make maers,” says Paul.
They both stress that Frode Laursen is a
workplace where there is room to ask questions,
even questions that are immediately assigned to
the ‘stupid’ category.
Questions are also an essential tool for
improving the working environment and preventing accidents.
“We work a lot with our working environment and ask ourselves how we can make the
workplace function even beer. It is therefore
very important that we are aware of mistakes
that are made. How they come about and how
we avoid them,” says Paul.
FUN TO TEACH OTHERS
Jenny’s day-to-day work is order picking. When
new employees arrive, she oen helps train
them in the job.
