WHEN TO USE FLEXIBLE
CONNECTORS IN A TANK SUMP
®
VENT LINE APPLICATION
Flexible connectors should be used to connect 3" rigid (fiberglass)
vent pipework systems to the extractor vent inside of a tank sump.
FLEX-ING® 3" flexible connectors are available with fiberglass
connection end fittings which allow them to connect easily to
fiberglass pipework during installation.
Flexible connectors should be used in tank sump applications
where rigid (fiberglass) or semi-rigid (UPP®) pipework is used.
The flexible connector acts as a shock absorber to combat line
shock and hydraulic hammer which can cause damage to
entry boots or pipework connections over time.

MONITORING DISPENSER SUMPS
A FMP-ULS liquid sensor can be hung from the junction box and detects the presence of
liquid. A FMP-DDS discriminating dispenser sump sensor mounts to dispenser equipment
using a TSP-KS mounting kit and detects both liquids and hydrocarbons. A FMP-SIB-ULS (for
all ULS sensors) or FMP-SIB-DMS (for all DDS, DTS & DMS sensors) securely bolts to any new
or existing tank manway to stabilize the sensor and optimize its position at the lowest point of
the containment. This also allows sensors to be removed from both tank sumps and dispenser
sumps at grade level for safe maintenance and testing.

IMPORTANT NOTES
• All EZ FIT and Quick Release flanges are 2" in diameter, regardless of the
product’s diameter. This allows all products featuring these flanges to easily
connect.
The integrated swivel and EZ FIT connections allow you to position the
flexible connector at virtually any angle off of the STP manifold for easy
installation. Their flexible nature also allows you to navigate around other
tank sump hardware or obstructions.

The example above utilizes a 3" flexible connector that comes complete with
an EZ FIT male on one end to connect to the extractor vent and an EZ FIT FG
fitting on the other end to connect to a fiberglass pipe. Simply fill in your
desired length for YY to customize. The example at right shows all of the
components this flexible connector comes with as complete.

This setup utilizes a flexible connector that comes
