Adopted in all 50 states, NFPA 70® National Electrical Code® (NEC) is the benchmark
for safe electrical design, installation, and inspection to protect people and property
from electrical hazards.
INTEGRATED ELECTRICAL CONTROLS ADDRESS KEY CODE REQUIREMENTS:
NEC 514.11(A) – EMERGENCY STOP DISCONNECT
All circuits leading to or through dispensing equipment shall be provided with a clearly identified means
to disconnect simultaneously from the source of supply all conductors of the circuits.
NEC 514.13 – MAINTENANCE & SERVICE DISCONNECT
Each dispensing device shall be provided with a means to remove all external voltage sources during
periods of maintenance and service of the dispensing equipment, including power, communications,
data, and video circuits.
NFPA 30A, SECTION 6.7 & NEC 514.11(C)
Fuel dispensing systems shall be provided with one or more clearly identified emergency shutoff devices
or electrical disconnects (E-Stops).
