FABIENNE VERDIER SARADAR BROCHURE 80pages+couv.BAT - Flipbook - Page 9
With the support of the Galerie Lelong,
we have invited an internationally renowned
artist to exhibit their work at Château
Lynch-Bages every year since 1989.
In recent years, the estate’s historic cellars
have hosted works by Günther Förg, Antoni
Tàpies, Paul Rebeyrolle, Emilio Perez, Pierre
Alechinsky, Jan Voss and Barthélémy Toguo.
The series continues this year with the
exhibition of works by Fabienne Verdier from
Marielle Saradar’s collection. We are pleased
to welcome the public back into our space
by showing the work of an artist whose path
has been so rich.
Fabienne Verdier’s paintings reflect her
cultural influences and express raw graphic
force, movement and sometimes organic forms.
They resonate in all the spaces of Château
Lynch-Bages, from the very oldest to the
most contemporary.
I would like to warmly thank the artist
Fabienne Verdier, Marielle Saradar and
Jean Frémon as well as the Galerie Lelong staff
for the organization of this exhibition.
Jean-Charles Cazes
Fabienne Verdier has a singular technique.
She is an artist engaged in the creative process
from the conception of her tools to the act of
painting vertically, thus playing with gravity.
The purity of the forms echoes the aesthetics
of an architecture that breaks with the system
of imitation and ornamentation. The play
of shifts, junctions and interruptions lend
the cellar its sculptural dimension. The large
formats take on their full meaning here and
are enhanced by the structural elements
and the spare use of materials.
