DAVE LUCAS TO RUN LONDON
MARATHON 2025 IN AID OF
BENCARE
AWARD
As most of you will be aware, I lost my dad after a short
but brave battle with cancer in January. It was incredibly
hard to watch my dad deteriorate from the man he was
to the frail man that was having the life sucked out of
him by this unforgiving disease. We were very lucky that
he received first rate end of life care from the team at
Town Thornes Care Home, a part of Bencare.
When he passed away, I wanted to give something back. I was lucky enough to be offered a
place in the TCS London Marathon 2025 and I will be taking this on in memory of my dad.
Having completed the marathon in 2012, I know the hard work and commitment I need to put
in, it’s going to be tough, especially as I will be 13 years older by then!
The sponsorship target that Bencare has set is achievable and I hope that with a little support
from all my amazing friends, colleagues, and customers from across the industry, I will hit that
target and hopefully more. I am also working on the idea of a charity auction, and I have
already had some fantastic prizes donated.
