SUE SAVAGE
GEORGIA Mars is a talented artist known
for her unique and captivating artwork. Her
work is characterised by organic shapes,
intricate details, and a sense of movement that
resonates with viewers. Georgia’s artistic style
is a blend of realism and abstraction, creating
a visual experience that is both thoughtprovoking and visually stunning.
Now happy to call Tasmania home, Georgia
spent much of her adult life overseas, often in
big and bustling cities. She moved home to
Tasmania in 2021 and is enjoying living close
to nature on Tasmania’s East Coast.
Always fascinated by the world around
her, Georgia has found that art is a way that
she can process and understand her natural
environment.
Georgia’s artwork explores themes of
nature, and the human experience within
nature. She builds up landscapes from details:
the colours of the beach, the unique details of
plants and animals and feelings of being in the
environment.
Her pieces are not only visually striking
but also carry a deeper meaning that invites
viewers to re昀ect on their own lives and
emotions and how they respond to the natural
world.
Georgia has enjoyed the opportunity
to learn through classes and workshops
wherever she has lived in the world. An
art teacher herself, Georgia believes we are
never too young, old, or experienced to learn
from others. While no longer teaching in the
classroom, Georgia enjoys leading workshops
for children and adults.
Her artistic repertoire spans textiles,
ceramics and collage. She honed her
skills through years of practice and
experimentation, eventually developing her
own distinctive artistic voice.
Georgia’s creative endeavours have
not gone unnoticed, with exhibitions in
Singapore, locally and interstate, as well as
recognition for her textile art in American
publications. She annually exhibits at The
Village in Triabunna. Georgia recently joined
as a member of Three Peaks Art and Craft
Gallery, 21 Gordon Street, Sorell and has her
ceramic work on display there.
She is currently working full time as an
artist when not entertaining her kelpie. She
is happy to accept commissions and you can
follow her work on Instagram @GeorgiaMars.
The Active Transport Strategy will help Council understand how best
to prioritise and improve infrastructure such as paths and cycleways
to increase safety and accessibility.
The Social Strategy will help Council understand what social services
and infrastructure will support community health and wellbeing and
enable the community to thrive.
We have engaged with the community through workshops, pop-up
sessions and an online survey. Your feedback has been used to
develop draft strategies.
The draft strategies are almost complete
but before they are finalised, Council
would like you to provide feedback!
