Finkley staff
Happy
My name is Sarah and I’ve been part of the Finkley
Family right from the start. I work with Ali and Gary
and oversee all our Finkley nurseries to make sure
we’re constantly acheiving our aim of happy children,
happy parents and happy staff.

very seriously and promote this
within each setting. We have
various ways to praise and feedback
to staff formally and informally. We have an employee of the month and
praise tokens for in-the-moment praise. We do regular staff supervision
meetings and wellbeing questionnaires where staff have the time to discuss
any concerns or worries. This also gives us the opportunity to discuss
performance issues, strengths and any support needed to progress. We feel
this helps us get to know our team and how we can support them to reach
their full potential and maximise their opportunities for progression.

Training, progression and staff
development
We pride ourselves on our inhouse support for staff, providing
opportunities to achieve personal
and career goals. We work closely
with staff to reach their full potential
so they can learn with us and all staff
to attend regular professional training.
This helps our Finkley Family grow and
we feel confident in knowing that our
staff have the same ethos and passion
as we do.
“In a day we can go from from
stroking rabbits and grooming
horses to dancing, exploring,
riding bikes, and reading
stories. But the very best part is
spending each day with the very
best little people!”

Safety
We ensure the physical environment is safe, clean and
warm.
Policies and best practice
We continually monitor and reassess our robust
practices and policies and update as and when required,
fully in line with Ofsted recommended standards.

Going above and beyond
Our staff constantly impress us with their creative ideas on how to make
each day fun for your child. We’ve created special videos for Father’s Day,
enjoyed teddy bear picnics, made the most of local events such as trips to
the circus and planted trees at Harmony Woods.

impact. Each year we offset this by planting

trees.
We teach children the process of
sustainability in a number of ways, including
sourcing our own eggs from the farm for baking so they can see where eggs
come from and growing our own vegetables which we use for lunch. The
children also help us with recycling and taking the recycling to the bins, so we
can discuss why recycling is important. We re-use as much as we can within
our nurseries, for example cardboard boxes have multiple uses, and we’ll reuse glass jars for pots.
Charity
We’re proud of the work our staff want to do for local charities. Each year we
support local food banks at Easter and Christmas. It’s an important part of
supporting our local community but also helps the children to understand
the importance of being kind. In the past we’ve held events for SANDS and
we’ve donated for local Help for Heroes events.
