Artist D J Carmody
D J Carmody is a visual artist living in Midland, Michigan primarily working in pastel
and watercolor. Her works focus on sharing experiences of seeing and being mindful of
the world. She has received several Mini-Grants from the Michigan Council for Arts and
Culture for professional development, has participated in residencies at the Arrowmont
School of Arts and Crafts and the Mary Anderson Center for the Arts and has exhibited
at numerous regional exhibits. She is a member of the Batik Guild International
and the Saginaw Area Watermedia Association. She has her Bachelor of Arts from
Northeastern University and her Masters in Human Relations from the University of
Oklahoma.
Artwork is currently on display at the Flint Institute of Arts gift shop and will be featured
in upcoming shows, Artfest 55 at Creative 360 in Midland and 50 Artists at Studio 23 in
Bay City. Her watercolor “Rocky Beach” has been selected to be featured for the next 2
years in Bay City’s Art Around the City.
