HSSCM hosted a Pet Portrait FUNdraiser in the month of June 2021. Individuals paid
$20 and submitted a photo of their pet. HSSCM artists, including real artists as well as
HSSCM staff members, volunteers and Board of Directors, created a custom piece of art
representing the pet. In July, the public voted on their favorite pet portrait and the winner
was Rae Barrett, who painted cat Odin. Great thanks to all of the artists who generously
donated their time and artistic skills to help the cats and dogs in our Humane Society
shelter. Your kindness touches many lives!

“I’m a freelance digital artist and proud cat parent.
This piece was a little tricky given the reference I
had. I was unsure of the rest of Odin’s markings
so I tried to work with the elements of the picture I
was given to work with that. Overall this was very
different from what I usually do, but it was fun and
I absolutely loved Odin to bits.
