“I am a mixed media artist living in Wilmington, NC. Being retired has made it possible
for me to spend my time volunteering for charities and donating my artwork and other
projects for fundraising. I also like to make things for family and friends.
This is my first pet portrait for the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. My
sister lives in Kalamazoo and has supported them for many years. She asked me to
volunteer, so how could I not?
Nugget is such a regal dog with attitude. I wanted to capture the little smirk. I used
pencil, acrylics, ink and markers on canvas to create the portrait. I used higher contrast
colors against the dark green background. It was such a fun project. I hope I get to do
again next year!
I am normally online as AIMR on LettuceCraft.com. I post everything from quilts to
knitted shawls. My artwork is primarily abstract and collage. I can be contacted on
