County Housing Authorities
Ø County housing authorities focus on safe and affordable housing to very low-income
families. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has a full listing of
Florida’s Housing Authorities and their associated websites to learn more about the
work that they conduct. These housing authorities may offer board opportunities on the
local county level.

County Early Learning Coalitions
Ø “Early Learning Coalitions help with understanding and applying for school readiness
childcare services, enrollment in voluntary prekindergarten (VPK), as well as obtaining
information about other early education resources. Each has its own county-level board
of directors.”
