A letter
from our
CEO
Dear Friends,
Over the last 15 years, I have witnessed
countless acts of kindness, connection, and
empathy that can instantly alter a person’s
life. Like a stone skipping across a pond,
those actions have the power to send ripples
of change far beyond that moment.
The impact of our work flows through
families, schools, and communities. When
a child discovers that they belong — and
that there is a place where they are safe,
supported, and understood — it actually
decreases the cortisol levels in their brains,
reducing stress, improving their physical
health, and allowing them to focus in school.
When someone shares a story at camp about
their person who died, it opens the door
to conversations at home, strengthening
relationships within their family. That
then leads to a greater sense of security
and healthy attachments later in life.
On and on the ripple goes.
