the Culture
We are reaching thousands
of young people through our
programs, but there are still
millions more who are struggling
to navigate their grief in a society
that doesn’t always do or say the
right things to support them. That’s
why we’re working hard to change
the culture around childhood
grief by developing content and
innovative platforms to create
a more grief-sensitive world.
We designed
GriefQuest
on Roblox.
The online gaming platform Roblox
has 54 million active players, and
we were thrilled to launch a custom
experience aimed at helping young
people become smarter about
supporting those who are grieving.
Nearly 120,000 people played our
scavenger hunt “GriefQuest” over
a two-week period in February
2023. This game takes place in a
virtual camp setting, and is filled
with concrete tips players see
along their journey (i.e. “Ask your
grieving friend to tell you a story
about their person who died”).
Now, the thousands of young
people who participated can take
those learnings to the physical
world to support others.
