We hosted
an adult
grief retreat.
Last June, we brought together
60 adults who experienced
the death of someone close to
them for a weekend retreat at
our camp in Pennsylvania.
It had all the camp vibes, with lots
of silly activities and profound
sharing, and just being with peers
who “get it” about grief. The
majority of the participants were
volunteer counselors for us, and they
will take the healing experiences
and insights they gained back to
their campers next summer.
The weekend was such a success
that we’re planning to grow the
retreat to 90 participants next June!
