EWRI Student Congress Opportunities
EWRI Student Photo Competition
EWRI Students & Education Activities Council invites you to a NEW undergraduate photo competition
opportunity. Students who will attend the World Environmental & Water Resources Congress are
encouraged to enter one of the following two competitions:
1. Best photo from a student project.
2. Best figure representing water or environment-related data.
Any original student work is acceptable as long as it is related to water or the environment, and
submissions related to senior design project teams are encouraged. This is also your opportunity to
have your photos selected for EWRI’s new Water Resources Calendar. The top 12 submissions will
be selected to be featured in our 2023 Calendar, and grand prizes of up to $100 will be provided for
the top entries in each category.
To enter a competition, please submit your work here by May 9, 2022. Any undergraduate student or
undergraduate student team is eligible. Please use a standard raster image format such as .tiff, .gif,
or .png, and include an explanatory caption of no more than 50 words.
WSP Student Design Competition
The WSP Student Design Competition aims to provide learning opportunities for undergraduate junior
and senior students in solving real-life infrastructure problems and developing practical yet innovative
solutions prior to entering the industry.
Currently all undergraduate civil/environmental engineering programs are required to include a
"capstone" design experience. Schools are strongly encouraged to participate in this exciting
competition.

Undergraduate & Graduate Student Paper Competitions
The undergraduate and graduate student paper competitions are technical writing competitions
geared towards and graded for undergraduate-level and graduate-level students, respectively. The
intent of the competition is to support the development of participants’ research writing skills, so it is
anticipated and expected that students submitting the work are the primary authors of the paper and
were responsible for its content.
