CASE GOODS
STANDARDS & SPECIFICATIONS
1. MATERIALS, WORKMANSHIP AND CONSTRUCTION
All materials used in fabrica on of case goods will be new and the best grade obtainable of
their respec ve types. The method of construc on, framing, join ng, fi ng, fastening and
finishing will be of the highest standard applied in our industry and also made to conform
with model and specifica on, where required, according to the customer’s specifica on.
2. WOOD
All wood will be of the best of its kind for the purposes specified. It will be thoroughly seasoned and kiln dried to a moisture content of six to eight percent before manufacturing. It
is also standard for Ever-Care Contract Furnishings to take proper precau ons to maintain
the specified moisture content during produc on.
3. INTERIOR PARTS
All solid interior parts will be free from defects, which might impair serviceability and species, or types that are aesthe cally and structurally correct for their purpose
4. HARDWOOD PLYWOOD
Face veneers will not be less than .025 before sanding and will be either rotary cut slices or
flat slice for exposed panels. All face veneers will be matched for color and grain to present a uniform appearance. When back veneers are of different species than a face, they
will be of the same density and thickness.
5. HIGH PRESSURE LAMINATED PLASTIC FACE
All tops and other surfaces that are specified to be plas c faced will have 45 pound density
par cleboard or approved equal core. Backing sheet on underside to be .03 in thickness.
Glue used will be urea resin or equal, to provide for Type 11 bondage, according to the requirements of CS-35-36. All tops of case goods are to be in 1/1” laminate.
6. JOINTS
Joints will be either splined, mor se and tenon, doweled, or full length blocked, glued and
screwed in two direc ons, following the best prac ce of construc on. All joints will be set
up for perfect gluing. All work will be carefully corner blocked, well fi ed, glued and reinforced with wood screws. Joint glue will be of the best quality hide glue.
