Be featured in the
LOtC Yearbook
Calling all EVCs… the team behind the annual Learning Outside the
Classroom Yearbook are looking for your contributions.
They would like to hear about the different roles and responsibilities you have
as Educational Visits Coordinators, the skills and qualities needed to succeed in
the role and what you like to do to go the extra mile for your pupils.
Created by the publishers of School Travel Organiser
magazine, the 2025 Learning Outside the Classroom
Yearbook is out this autumn and available in
print and digital. It’s aimed at EVCs and teachers
organising school trips and includes practical advice,
thought-provoking content, inspiring content and
how to find the best help and support.
The 2024 edition, which is still available to use and
read, features comments and advice from teachers
and EVCs who have ‘been there and got the t-shirt’
including Chris Wilson, EVC and deputy headteacher at
Hammersmith Academy who shared:
“We make sure that we research any trip or residential
in detail, including speaking to schools and educational
professionals for feedback and looking at testimonials.”
What the LOtC Yearbook team is asking for
As an EVC, could you share a little about your
role and responsibilities?
What skills and qualities do you think are
needed to succeed in the role?
Could you share any examples of what you
do, or have done, to go the extra mile for your
students?
What support/help would assist you in your
role as an EVC?
Editor Keeley Rodgers said: “We are currently
working on the next Yearbook and want it to be the
best yet. We have taken on board all the feedback
from readers and are including content that will help
EVCs and teachers, whether they are new to the role
or a seasoned pro.
If you are able to answer any, or all of
these, contact the editorial team at School
Travel Organiser by emailing editorial@
schooltravelorganiser.com
“But as always, we need your contributions so that
we can share advice and experiences with those at
schools and academies up and down the country. We
know the role of the EVC varies greatly so it would be
brilliant to build up a picture across the board and
celebrate the amazing work you all do.”
