A FIRST TASTE OF UNIVERSITY
ON CAMPUS ACTIVITY
IGNITE YOUR FUTURE
Students learn about visual effects at STEAM Northants
Like many universities, we have a dedicated Schools
Engagement Team. At UON our aim is to bridge the
educational divide, offering underrepresented students
from targeted primary and secondary schools a unique
opportunity to engage with higher education learning.
our aim at UON is to bridge the
educational divide
We offer ’widening access’ interventions across all
age phases, to support schools in raising attainment,
supporting aspirations and – most of all – inspire
children to think big and be the best that they can be
from an early age.
Our programmes are particularly aimed at children
and young people from areas of disadvantage to help
overcome barriers to higher education. We know that
school budgets are tight, so our events are free and we
offer travel bursaries to participating schools.
We love working with schools to open young
people’s eyes to future possibilities.
I’d recommend getting in touch
with universities in your area
to see what they can offer
for educational visits with a
difference.

enjoyed the visit.

something new about higher
education.
Uni Club
This programme involves postgraduate
students teaching year 9 groups a wide

important transferable employability and
study skills.

teaching, and how it

community, about different people,
language skills, communication, because
that’s really valuable for them... Teacher
