Expenses for governmental activities include General Government, public Safety, physical
Environment, Transportation, Culture and Recreation, and Non-Departmental expensesÿ public
Safety is the most signiocant governmental expense. This expense provides law enforcement and
ore control. As presented in the chart below, program revenues do not cover the cost of providing
governmental activities servicesÿ

Total City governmental expenditures reflect a total increase of $5,355,227 or 25ÿ63% over the prior
year9s total governmental expenditures, see Table 5ÿ
General government experienced an increase of $1,548,777 - 35ÿ21%, public Safety had an increase
of $2,865,810 - 28ÿ54% and Transportation had an increase ofan increase of $884,132 - 39ÿ93%ÿ The
increase in Transportation expenditures is due to an increase in new street projects during 2023ÿ
CRA street rehabilitation is a part of the transportation project that has been completed by 100%ÿ
Culture and Recreation reflects an increase of $108,803 - 4ÿ72% due to an increase in capital projectsÿ physical Environment expenses decreased by $137,941 or 24ÿ64%ÿ Non-Departmental expenses
increased by $76,545 or by 5ÿ93% due to staff terminationsÿ
