NOTE:
Florida Statute 197ÿ012 allows a discount for early payment of taxes of 4% in November, 3% in December, 2% in January, and 1%
in Februaryÿ Taxes become delinquent on April 1 of each yearÿ
County Tax Collector is responsible for collecting and remitting all property taxesÿ
They do not keep track of amounts which are past due on a regular basisÿ Once a year they consolidate all past due amounts
and have a tax certiocate sale.
The money obtained from this sale is then distributed to the proper taxing authorityÿ
