Joining Warminster Prep as an eager 8 year old,
Tash was both keen and ready to settle in. New
to boarding, there was plenty for her to adjust to,
however, the opportunities and activities very quickly
engaged her and she went on to enjoy a challenging
and fulfilling ten years at the School. Mrs Rogers recalls
a natural organiser, “I remember Tash bursting into my
office shortly before Curriculum Enrichment Day and
smiling, “Don’t worry Mrs Rogers – the Arnold House
entry is all sorted!” It’s been fascinating to watch her
develop her own business and witness the same passion
and energy we encouraged here at school now translated
so effectively into her adult life.”
Looking back what ‘hidden’ benefits do you feel
Warminster gave you?
teachers fostered that passion but importantly never let the
official structure of the syllabus and examinations affect my
fascination for the subject. I was encouraged to become an
Ambassador for the Lessons from Auschwitz Project, run by
the Holocaust Educational Trust, one of many opportunities
that I realise now was instrumental in my intellectual and moral
development. All three of my A Levels (history, geography,
philosophy and ethics) have proved extremely beneficial
through my undergraduate and post graduate studies at
the University of Bristol.
With hindsight I realise how much I valued being amongst pupils
of all ages, whether that was taking part in a school production,
sharing ideas for Community Action Day or on the hockey pitch.
There was always someone I looked up to and aspired
to emulate. I understand now that this ethos was something the
teaching staff carefully nurtured and is deeply embedded in
Warminster’s culture. Returning to school now, I’ve seen how
pupils enjoy an official pupil to pupil mentoring programme.
I constantly seek out the advice and companionship of people
of all ages, especially since I have set up my business and I
appreciate that feeling comfortable to do so stems not only
from my relationships with pupils at school, but with the
teachers and support staff as well.
Are there any specific skills you learned at Warminster
that you feel are particularly pertinent to your chosen
career path?
Confidence and public speaking were invaluable skills
Warminster instilled in me. Today, this is a huge part of my job
and it was the years of LAMDA, Poetry and Prose evenings,
plays and performances that give me the confidence now to
stand in front of a room full of people and talk. Warminster
nurtured my independence both intellectually and in terms of
living and supporting myself away from home. I see now that
I was always encouraged to develop my own opinions and
importantly not to see it as a weakness to change them. I am
grateful too for the way teachers encouraged us to adapt to
events and situations around us, Community Action Day is an
excellent example. We were never allowed to settle for the
comfortable, easy option and I am immensely grateful for that.
How did your academic choices at Warminster
prepare you for further study?
From an early age I had a deep love of history. I believe my

entrepreneurial career path, setting up Bold Voices
in September 2018. Greatly encouraged by teachers
from Warminster she delivers talks and workshops
on gender equality to schools and universities across
the UK. Tash was welcomed back as our youngest
ever visitor to address the School and present the
prizes on Speech Day 2019 which she described
as a wonderfully surreal and proud moment.

How do you feel Warminster laid the foundations
from which you have launched your own business?
Working for myself is both rewarding and extremely hard work.
Every day is different. Looking back, Warminster proved to be
the ideal springboard for me to embark on my current career;
setting up my own business, juggling academic work with
financial acumen, and having the confidence to ‘find my voice’.
All of this stems from the strong, secure grounding, both
pastoral and academic, that I was fortunate enough to receive
at Warminster.
