landowners for their generous donations or bargain
permanent protection of an iconic viewshed of the
sales of land or conservation easements to achieve
Blue Ridge Mountains, and add to the Conservancy9s
permanent protection for the places they cherish.

In 2023, Michael Cudlipp donated 6 acres of land
along the Blue Ridge Escarpment in Blowing Rock,
NC, Caldwell County, to Foothills Conservancy of NC
beauty of these irreplaceable landscapes forever.
We are pleased to recognize the following as our
newest Guardians of the Land.
Tim Sweeney
Long-time partner of Foothills Conservancy of NC,
conservationist Tim Sweeney sold multiple properties
to the Conservancy, each at a bargain sale price for
permanent conservation, including:
" Pinnacle Mountains West - 1,460 acres in

of Caldwell County to Foothills Conservancy of NC at
a bargain sale price. The highly signiocant property
contains the headwaters of the Johns River and
protects the magniocent viewshed from The Blowing
Rock attraction.
Gregory Tant
the South Mountains of Rutherford County to
Conservationist landowner, Gregory Tant, sold a

" Tri-County Forests - 1,125 acres in the Brushy
Mountains of Alexander, Iredell and Wilkes
counties that FCNC acquired in partnership with
Blue Ridge Conservancy to protect watershed
lands of the Yadkin River Basin, and signiocant
natural resources of the Tri-County Forest Natural
Heritage Area.
