Rob Cli昀昀ord
Jo Carrasco

Chief Executive
Rob started his career over 30 years’ ago
as a mortgage adviser, leading to being a
founder and investor in a number of broking businesses. He
joined the Stonebridge board in 2015 and has been Chief
Executive since 2019. Previous roles include MD of Virgin
Money, Director at West Bromwich Building Society, and
CEO at Mortgageforce.
Rob pioneered professional standards as a founding director
of the mortgage regulator MCCB, and Deputy Chairman of
the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries. Rob Cli昀昀ord is
also a member of the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA)
Smaller Business Practitioner Panel.
He has achieved numerous industry accolades including
Mortgage Personality of the Year, Mortgage Strategist of
the Year, and was named Network Business Leader 2021 at
the British Mortgage Awards, and Change Maker 2022 by
Mortgage Solutions.
Following 10 years working in investment
banking, and 昀椀ve years as a Mortgage and
Protection Adviser, Jo joined Stonebridge in 2007 as a Sales
and Compliance Manager.
Jo has since progressed to Business Partnerships
Director, and has responsibility for sales results across the
network, maintaining successful relationships with the
Appointed Representative 昀椀rms, as well with our lender and
provider partners, and the management of the Business
Development, and Marketing teams.
In 2022, Jo was named as one of the Top 60 Elite Women in
the mortgage industry by Mortgage Solutions.
Alex Hill
Head of Business Standards & Risk
Alex has worked in the 昀椀nancial services
sector for most of his working life,
performing many varied roles including that of mortgage
and protection adviser. His natural ability to understand,
interpret and apply regulation is where most of his career
and has seen the implementation of regulation for our
industry and its evolution through the Mortgage Market
Review and the Mortgage Credit Directive. Alex is the
longest serving team member of Stonebridge and has
developed his own approach to regulation and compliance
during his tenure with the network.
He’s worked collaboratively across the industry,
engaging adviser 昀椀rms, lenders, insurers, and compliance
professionals to better shape our sector though consumer
understanding and best practice. Representing the network
in several working parties, participation in pilot work with the
FCA, and speaking at industry events, Alex continues to be
an active 昀椀gure in ensuring regulatory change is delivered in
a proportionate and well-informed way.
