Home to two beaches, you have
some great options to choose
from, depending on what you
want to do.
Shaldon Beach sits on the River
Teign with views of Teignmouth.
It’s ideal for swimming, sailing,
rowing and kayaking.
Perhaps one of the best
views of the area is from
the beautiful Shaldon
Botanical Gardens
which is situated on a
sloping hillside above
the village with
panoramic views of
Teignmouth, the River
Teign and further
towards East Devon and
Dorset.
Ness Cove Beach is ever so
slightly further along the
coastline and can be accessed
by an original smugglers tunnel.
This beach is completely
enclosed by the cliffs so it’s
sheltered and secluded. Dogs
are permitted here all-year
round so it’s a great place visit if
you want to experience a dogfriendly beach.
