As Teignmouth sits on the
South West Coast Path, it’s a
great town to base yourself if
you’re looking to embark on a
walking holiday. There are a
number of great walks to
take, suitable for a different
abilities. For an easy trail, try
the walk along the seafront to
Smugglers Lane. For
something a bit more
challenging you could try
walking to Dawlish, and for
those who really want to push
themselves, walk to the
Shaldon Ferry and then
venture onwards to Labrador
Bay.
Teignmouth is earning
acclaim as a culinary
hotspot, surrounded by
the sea and the River
Teign; boasting a food
trail which follows the
route of the river.
Fresh seafood dominates
the local dining scene,
often caught the very
same morning; you may
witness the boats arriving
at the beach, unloading
their bountiful catches for
the day's menu.
The town centre is home to a
number of architecturally
interesting buildings and it has
a lovely high street with many
big-name and independent
shops; perfect for some retail
therapy. Teignmouth even has
its own Arts Quarter which is full
of fantastic galleries and
studios.
